Hello, I’m Belinda Ryland, BA, BFA, MS, MFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over twenty years of private practice in Marin County California and hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology. I spend about half the year at home in California and the rest of my time in Spain. Accordingly, my sessions are conducted primarily on Skype, which not only allows for continuity but also gives my clients the benefit of doing their therapy in the easy comfort of their own homes or workplaces.

Professional Highlights

In my career, I have been privileged to train and supervise dozens of interns. As the former Director of Substance Abuse Outreach at the Community Institute of Psychotherapy in San Rafael, California, I also gave regular trainings to my supervising colleagues, and for many years, I wrote and illustrated a mental health newsletter called “Lifelines” which covered a wide range of topics from Bi-Polar disorders to Issues of Aging.

Personal Notes

I’ve recently returned to California after 6 years of living on the coast of Croatia, where my husband and I lived with our Golden Doodle, Harpo, and grew olives and other wonderful things in our garden overlooking the Adriatic. I enjoy painting, writing, yoga and meditation practices, and long walks.
